MetroKidz Needs Your Help This Christmas!

Picture 3Are you looking for some ways that you can serve this holiday season? MetroKidz is looking for a few good volunteers. Maybe you can’t make a weekly commitment, maybe you’re not comfortable traveling into Baltimore or maybe you’d just like to check us out and see what we’re all about?  If that’s the case there are many way to get involved with us this month!

Ways you can serve this month:

  • December 12th: 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Help Portrait, do you love photography, mingling with people or baking? If so do we have an opportunity for you? We’re hosting a photo event to top all photo events, a few local photographers and make-up artists are giving up their time to serve the community. They’ll be taking photos and hanging out for a few hours. We need some people who are willing to come and mingle, help organize people, set-up and tear down and help serve cookies and hot chocolate. Not a people person, never fear, we also need volunteers to bake cookies, and donate hot chocolate for this event.
  • christmasgiftsDecember 10th/14th (tenative): We need a few good wrappers, to help wrap at least 500 gifts. We’ll be wrapping gifts and sorting them so they can be handed out to the hundreds of children we’ll reach at our Annual Operation Christmas Kidz party on December 16th! We also need wrapping paper and tape donations!
  • December 15th: MetroTeenz Christmas Party we’ll be celebrating Christmas with our teenagers this night, come hang out with some of the coolest kids on the block! Pastor Mike will be sharing with the teenagers, we’ll also serve them some Christmas Goodies and they’ll each leave with a gift. Not only do we need people to come love on some kids, we also need baked goodies, candy canes and hot chocolate for this event.
  • guitarsantaDecember 16th: Operation Christmas Kidz annual Christmas Party! This is a night where hundreds (literally!) of kids join us to Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ mail man (Santa) pays a visit, the Christmas Story is shared and the kids are entertained by Pastor Mike. This night we also serve Christmas Goodies to the kids, and each child leaves with a gift. We’re looking for some awesome servants who want to come love on some kids, corral the crowds or help serve snacks! If you can’t make it, please consider donating some cookies or candy!

If you’re interested in any or all of these events please contact Colleen Smith by email colleen@metrokidzbaltimore.org or at FusionCP

MetroKidz Prayer Team and Friday Nights!

Hey friends!

We’re still looking for a few more committed volunteers to help launch our Friday Night Teen Ministry! This is the perfect opportunity for people who are interested in volunteering, but can’t commit to Wednesday evenings or people who can’t commit many hours per month.  The commitment is 7 hours per month, two Fridays a month. If you’d like more details, please contact Colleen Smith (colleen@metrokidzbaltimore.org)

If  you’re looking for something with even less of a time commitment, then please consider joining our MetroKidz Prayer team.  An important part of our ministry is prayer and without constant prayer nothing can be accomplished. We welcome prayer partners are in the process of putting together a prayer team. Team members would recieve a weekly email with our prayer requests, for our young people, our ministry and our volunteers. We’re asking our prayer partners to commit to praying for our ministry 15 minutes per day. If you’re interested in becoming a prayer  partner please contact Colleen Smith (colleen@metrokidzbaltimore.org).
