Service Opportunity – Valentine’s Dinner

What: Help out Captivate Church
When: Wednesday, Feb 15th (the day AFTER valentine’s), afternoon until late.
Where: 400 N Luzerne Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224

For hundreds of years, western cultures have used “Valentine’s Day” to celebrate romantic love, or mourn the lack there-of. But of the Saints who bore the name Valentine, none are remembered for championing romnatic love. The earliest records of the first St. Valentine suggest a far different story, one of unconditional trust, hope, and faith Jesus Christ.

This year, Fusion will be helping Captivate Church’s South campus for a Valentine’s Day (actually the day after) dinner for the kids and parents in their community. If you are interested in setting up, preparing food, or actually serving during the dinner, email missions@fusionfellowship.org.

Help Portrait Baltimore – December 10th

It’s that time of year again – time to help our friends in Baltimore host Help Portrait. Help Portrait is a global movement of photographers who use their time, gear, and expertise to provide portraits to those in need.

In inner-city Baltimore, professional (and well equipped hobbyist) photographers will take quality photos and editors will perform rudimentary touch-ups (training provided) and print the pictures. We would like to have makeup artists on hand. A small army of hosts will be needed to greet, direct, feed, and converse with the guests. The coordinators suspect ~30 volunteers will be needed in addition to the photographers.

Where might you fit in?

We need greeters and hosts, food preparers and servers, and a handful of people just to talk to the guests, if that is your thing. In addition, if you have a laptop, you can be a photo editor. Are you a photographer? A makeup artist? If you are interested in participating, please email missions@fusionfellowship.org. If you’d rather speak to a living person, the following people can help you on Sunday:

  • Tanya Curtis – makeup / hair styling
  • Aaron Curtis – photo editors / photographers

  • Who: As many of you as possible
  • Guests: People who may otherwise not have a nice family Christmas photo

Work Day at Emory

Join Emory and Fusion on Saturday October 8th as Emory hosts a church work day. The fun starts at 9:30AM. Bring work gloves, garden implements, cleaning supplies, and anything else you think might be helpful.

Emory Work Day – May 28

Get your work gloves and bring some lawn tools. Emory needs our help maintaining their green areas. Tasks include cutting down 10 foot-tall weeds, mowing/edging, and removing vines. Please note, there may be poison ivy on the education building. If you intend on handling that, wear long sleeves, thick gloves, and consider bringing an extra shirt.

Missions Opportunity

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…”

The Great Commission is still our charge today. One of Fusion’s own will be participating in a long term mission. Come and learn how God has already moved through this Christian, and how we, Fusion, can be a part of the Great Commission. All are encouraged to participate.

Men’s Campout / Retreat

What: Men’s Campout / Retreat
When: April 29th to May 1st
Where: Rocky Gap State Park

Fusion men, join some of your brothers in Christ for a weekend of camping, worship, reflection, and teaching. Rocky Gap’s attractions include hiking, a small lake with a beach, boat rentals, and sand volleyball.
