Speaker: Tim Jones

It is for sure not Christmas until this song is sung, it is for sure a Christmas Classic. Many don’t realize that it is based on Psalm 98 and Watt wrote this into a hymn to have us look forward to Christ’s second coming. Some words have been changed and we sing this song now to celebrate Christ’s first coming. I just wonder how loud it will be when “all the Earth sings out, all the rivers and hills, Joy has come to the world.

James wants us to be ready for Christ’s return. So much so, he challenges us that we are settling for just an appetizer rather than eating the main coarse, being OK with the previews instead of the featured film, or just a kiss at our wedding. He honestly wants us to live like Christ is at the door knocking. . . So are you ready?
