We need someone to volunteer to either bring a “big” coffee maker or pick up a box o’ joe (Tricia only has a 4cup coffee pot).

Help Portrait – December 4th

Help Portrait - December 4, 2010Charm City Church of Baltimore is hosting Help Portrait again this year. Help Portrait is a global movement of photographers who use their time, gear, and expertise to provide portraits to those in need.

At Charm City Church in inner-city Baltimore, professional (and well equipped hobbyist) photographers will take quality photos and editors will perform rudimentary touch-ups (training provided) and print the pictures. We would like to have a makeup artist on hand. A small army of hosts will be needed to greet, direct, feed, and converse with the guests. The coordinators suspect ~30 volunteers will be needed in addition to the photographers.

Where might you fit in?

We need greeters and hosts, food preparers and servers, and a handful of people just to talk to the guests, if that is your thing. In addition, if you have a laptop, you can be a photo editor. Are you a photographer? A makeup artist? If you are interested in participating, please email missions@fusionfellowship.org.

Mike Stog has put together a flier for us. A copy of Mike’s flier can be found here.

DC Stop Modern Slavery Walk

Fusion Fellowship Church is participating in the DC stop modern slavery walk / fundraiser. Think human trafficking isn’t a problem? Think again! Read up at the Polaris Project, first what the problem is and second, how bad it is. Post-walk events include performances and speakers addressing topics ranging from restoration of victims to awareness. As Christians we must ask ourselves, “What role should we, the church, play?”
