Kidz Garden Newsletter – 1/19/2010

Theme of the Week:

God is forgiving, so we worship Him

Luke 7:36-50

Welcome to the Fusion Kidz Garden Newsletter

Dear *|FNAME|*,

The children heard the story about Jesus forgiving Mary Magdalene. Jesus went to dinner with some friends. While they were eating a Mary came and knelt down near Jesus. She started crying because she knew she had done lots of bad things in her life. She used her tears and her hair to wash Jesus’ feet. Then she put perfume on his feet. Some people were mad because Jesus was being nice to a woman who had done bad things. But Jesus said “None of you welcomed me tonight, but this woman has done lots of special things to make me feel welcome. Just because someone does bad things doesn’t mean they can’t love me.” And Jesus forgave Mary.

What kind of things do you do to make Jesus feel special every day? How can your family worship Him together?

Allergy Awareness

In order to protect any children that may have nut allergies please take special care when preparing snacks for your children for church. Please do not bring any snacks containing nuts to church. If your child eats a snack containing nuts at home before leaving for church please make sure to wash their hands and face. We want all our children to have fun and our parents to know their children will be safe in our care. Thank you.

Buzz at Home

New Buzz at Home Kit!! Please pick one up in at the check-in desk if you haven’t already. Also pick up your CD featuring the music we use for worship and during lessons, also at the check-in table.

This week, your child learned a Bible story about a woman who worshipped Jesus in an extravagant way.  She anointed Jesus’ feet with her tears and poured expensive perfume on them.  She clearly understood that God is forgiving, so we worship Him.

As a family, worship God using the Buzz Bubble Ball.  Stand in a circle, and give each person a turn to say something nice about God and bounce the ball in celebration.

Pass the ball around again, and encourage each family member to say one way to worship God throughout the week.

Watering Can: Home Made Bubble Bath

Mix up a batch of Home Made Bubble Bath together.  Then the next time your child takes a bath you can talk about how Mary cleaned Jesus’ feet because she wanted him to feel special.  Taking a bath makes our bodies clean and asking forgiveness makes our heart and soul clean.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shampoo (preferably un-dyed and unscented)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • food color (optional)
  • squeeze bottles or jars (dish detergent bottles or shampoo bottles)
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp glycerin (purchase at the drug store)
  • Optional: essential oil (scented oils like vanilla or citrus) — available at most craft stores
  • OR Optional: a few drops of strong perfume

Directions:

  1. Pour shampoo and water into your bottle.
  2. Add a couple drops of food color
  3. Optional: add glycerin and essential oil or perfume
  4. Shake well to mix
  5. It will get foamy when you shake it, but will settle down and look like bubble bath
  6. Squeeze a good amount into the tub as you are running the water.

Easter Service Special Event

To celebrate Easter and Fusion CP’s official launch the children from the toddler class and up will be coming into service join us for worship and singing the song they’ve been practicing in the Garden.  Please continue practicing the signs with your child.  The song can be found on your Spring Garden CD, available next Sunday.  It will be wonderful if the kids see people in the audience doing the signs along with them.  The song is “Love the Lord” by Lincoln Brewster.

Love – Cross arms across chest

Lord – Make an “L” with your right hand, touch it to your left shoulder then drag it down your torso to your right hip.

Heart – Draw a heart using your 2 middle fingers on your chest

Soul – on both hands put your thumb and pointer together like pinching.  Put all 4 fingers together right hand over left.  Keeping fingers pinched move the right hand up into the air like a ghost or smoke

Mind – Tap your temple twice with right pointer finger

Strength – Make muscles with both arms and closed fists

Serve – Both hands open palms facing up and waist height.  Shuffle hands back and forth like pacing out plates

Praise – Right pointer finger at mouth comes down and around to left hand and claps twice

Trust – Both hands open facing body, right above left.  Close hands like grabbing onto a rope.

Memory Verse:

“But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us.” – 1 John 1:9

Kidz Garden Newsletter – 1/19/2010

Your little ones are like seeds, ready to grow and become beautiful plants. All they need is some good soil, water, and of course sun. Your family provides the soil for their little roots to take hold in. We hope to work with you to provide water, the Word of God, to nourish them and help them feel the light of the Son.
