Kidz Garden
The Kidz Garden hopes to engage your children during the time we have them and help them learn about God’s love for them. We also hope to empower families with some tools to help them continue the lesson during the week. Our curriculum for the Preschool through 5th grade classes teaches the same Bible story to all age groups. This allows the parents to focus on one concept for all their children. Each family will receive a “Buzz at Home” kit provided by the makers of our curriculum. The kit contains a toy or object that can be used during the week to facilitate an activity described on the cards included with the kit. Each week has a different card and the activity pertains to that week’s lesson. We also provide CDs for all the families, which contain a mix of songs used during the lesson as well as during worship time. Finally we have our Kidz Garden Newsletter, which summarizes the lesson, includes the Buzz at Home activity (in case you lost your cards), and provides other helpful information. If you’d like to subscribe please fill out the sign up form in the right margin.
Our program is designed for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. Please check out the sections on the different classrooms for more information about the different classrooms. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please check out the FAQS section or email us.
Kidz Garden Nursery
Welcome to the Kidz Garden Nursery. Our nursery program is designed for children from 6 weeks to 2 years old. The children are divided into two classrooms, based on their development. Infants who are stationary or crawling are placed in the infant room. Children who are walking are placed in the toddler classroom. This allows the older children to be able to move more easily without worrying about younger children as “obstacles”.
We believe that even as infants your children can begin learning about God and his love. Our volunteers will sing worship songs with them, play games teaching them that God made them, and help them explore the world around them through bubble time and other activities.
We understand that it can be difficult for parents to leave their babies. We keep a low ratio of volunteers to babies to ensure that your child will get the love and attention it needs while you are in service. All children in the nursery will have their diapers check and changed if needed. Please leave all supplies needed for changing your child’s diaper.
Please be sure that all bottles and pacifiers are labeled with the child’s name to prevent confusion. Bottles of breast milk or already mixed formula may be dropped off; however we do not have the capacity to keep bottles cool or warm them up during service. We will make every effort possible to feed your child their bottle, but circumstances may require us to notify you to come feed them.
For older children please pack a labeled sippy or straw cup with non-dairy contents. All children will be given a snack of Cheerios. If your child needs to be fed something else during service, feel free to come and feed him or her. We do not have the capacity to individually feed children.
Kidz Garden Preschool
Welcome to the Kidz Garden Preschool. Our preschool classroom is designed to help provide a little more structure and deeper lessons than the toddler room. In this class the children will hear a Bible story, sing worship songs, and play games together. Some weeks the children will work on a craft to take home to help them remember the lesson.
The volunteers in this class will work with your children to learn more about God and His love for them. They will also help your child learn ways to show God how much they love Him. The curriculum used is a modified version of the Buzz curriculum used in the older classrooms. This helps ensure all your children learn the same story every week.
If your child is still in diapers please leave all supplies needed for changing your child’s diaper. All children will have their diapers checked and changed if needed during service. If your child is potty trained please make sure the volunteers know. The children will be asked if they need to use the restroom during service and taken if needed. Children are taken to the restroom in groups by the coordinator and a volunteer. Before children enter the restroom a volunteer will ensure there is no one else inside, and they will not allow anyone to enter while the children are inside.
The children will be given Goldfish, Cheez-its or Pretzels for a snack. If your child has allergies to any of those please make sure they have an allergy tag and the volunteer knows. We will provide water in cups with straws for the children. If your child cannot use a straw please bring a labeled sippy cup with water. Due to allergies we request no outside food or drinks containing dairy or juice be brought in.
Kidz Garden Pre-K – 5th Grade
Welcome to the Kidz Garden for our older children. This age range is broken into two groups. Children from age 4 through 1st grade make up our PK – 1 class while 2nd grade through 5th graders make up our 2 – 5 class. These classes use age appropriate curriculum to help engage the children through stories, drama, song, bible verse memorization, crafts, games, and prayer. The children will work in large groups, small groups, and independently to help them grow and learn more about God.
The curriculum used in the classrooms is Buzz by Group.com. All classes use the same lesson each week to ensure all your children hear the same story every week. Adjustments are made for the different age groups to help them get the most out of the lesson.
All children in these classes must be potty trained.
We will provide water in cups for the children. Due to allergies we request no outside food or drinks be brought into the classroom.
