Fusion CP Kidz Garden

Welcome to the Fusion Kidz Garden Newsletter

Welcome to our first newsletter. You’ll find lots of great information in here about some exciting new changes we’re making in the Garden. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please email us at kids@fusionfellowship.org or call Katy Linda.

This month the kids are learning that God protects them through the story of Noah. Take some time this week to talk to your child about how God was sad that the people on Earth didn’t love Him, except for Noah. So God asked Noah to build an ark to protect him, his family, and the animals. Then God sent a flood to wash the world and make it good again. Explain to your children that Noah loved God but he was still scared. God promised to protect Noah so Noah trusted in God.

It’s Picture Taking Time

Picture Time

We’ve had lots of great feedback with the changes we have implemented so far as Children’s Ministry grows. Our next step is to begin taking pictures. Starting this Sunday 10/25/09 we will be taking pictures of all of the children and the parents. This will be an on-going process, but we hope to get our “regulars” done in a timely manner.

Why are we doing this? In an effort to personalize the children’s name tags, and add faces to the names, all of the families will be receiving personal name tags. The kid’s tags will have their name, a number that will be assigned to your family, their picture and your pictures. Your parent tags will be similar.

This will allow our volunteers to recognize the children and parents from the photos and allow the parents who are wearing their parent tags to get to know each other as well. It is our goal that the new name tags will not only help insure that children are picked up by the proper parent, but that the adults would notice each other’s tags and get to know each other as well. We want to make sure that we are welcoming new families and making it easier for visitors to feel comfortable with our Fusion Family.

Offerings of Love

Some of the kids in the 3+ age range are starting to learn about money and giving at home with their parents. Our kids are excited to be able to give to Jesus and help the church. Since there has been interest, we have decided to place an offering plate in the classroom for our 3 and older children. We will not be passing the plate around, but it will be available if your child would like to save a few pennies and add it to the basket while they learn about giving and supporting the church.

The offering will be added to the churches offering collection once a month. Two or three children will be selected each month to bring the offering into “Big” church.

Welcome To The Garden

Your little ones are like seeds, ready to grow and become beautiful plants. All they need is some good soil, water, and of course sun. Your family provides the soil for their little roots to take hold in. We hope to work with you to provide water, the Word of God, to nourish them and help them feel the light of the Son.

The Watering Can

Here’s a fun at-home activity to carry on the lesson from the week:

Ingredients:
Celery, Cream Cheese or Peanut Butter, Raisins

Step 1:
Cut celery into 3 inch pieces. Tell your child this represents Noah’s Ark. Making building sounds while you cut the pieces for some extra fun.

Step 2:
Fill the wells of the celery with cream cheese or peanut butter. Explain that this is God’s love and protection filling the ark. God told Noah to build the ark and since Noah obeyed God, God will protect Noah and his family.

Step 3:
Place raisins into the filling in sets of two. These are the animals that came on the ark. Make the sounds for each animal as it is placed on the ark.
