What is a Life Group?

A Life Group, Fusion Fellowship Church’s small-group model, provides a forum unlike any other for Jesus Christ to reveal His power and love through Christian fellowship in a personal and intimate way. This form of small group balances the necessity of growing disciples through study and discussion with strengthening participants through addressing burdens of the heart. As a reflection of the supportive environment which Christians in the New Testament experienced, the Life Group is designed to provide a community of faith where believers do not have to put on masks of religiosity, but can be real, find acceptance, and become even more true followers of Jesus Christ.

Is a Life Group For Me?

One goal of the Life Group is to make groups of ten to fifteen individuals the basic unit of the church, as opposed to the entire congregation. The church exists to glorify God. It does so in part by ministering to the hurt and creating opportunities for healing. Life Groups, with Christ in the midst, enable both of these beyond the walls of Sunday worship. Sunday no longer defines “church.” Rather, the Life Group, with Christ in its midst, has the potential to engage and enable all participants actively, personally, and intimately. With God’s guidance through these small groups, day-to-day life itself becomes “church,” and Sunday is proclaimed as a day of celebration, when we throw a party for God almighty. Whether you are a leader, looking for an honest and safe Christ-centered environment, yearning for more daily bread, or want to learn more about this man they call Jesus, a Life Group is for you.

How Do I Join?

Most life Groups begin the first week of October, 2010. Sign up for a Life Group at any Sunday service, or email lifegroups@fusionfellowship.org. Factors to consider when choosing a group:

  • Location, location, location – don’t discourage yourself with an additional hour commute!
  • Men/women/mixed
  • Single/couples
  • Day/time
  • Children friendly
  • Theme based – some small groups may have a particular focus – deep theological discussion, outreach to a nearby city, short term missions, missionary support, etc.
  • Life Groups are not designed to be static, permanent fixtures, so the theme/topic of a specific Life Group, not to mention the participants of the Life Group, is expected to gradually change.

  • Diane Quick and Lisa Jones – Women’s Life Group – married/single. Tuesday, 7:00-8:30pm. Near the Columbia Mall. Infants okay, no older children. Start date: October, 2011.
  • Ken Quick – Men’s Life Group – married/single. Monday, 7:30-9:00pm. Near the Columbia Mall. Infants okay, no older children. Start date: October, 2011.
  • Tim Jones – Men’s Life Group – married/single, Monday, 12:00pm, DuClaw Restaurant in Arundel Mills, no children. Start date: October, 2011
  • Dave & Jaclyn Miller’s Life Group – couples/single. Monday, 7:30-9:00pm. Near 100 & Arundel Mills Blvd, Hanover, MD. Children invited. Start date: October, 2011.
  • Shaun Smithson – Men’s Life Group- married/single. twice a month Thursday’s, 12:00pm, Federal Hill. No children. Start date: October 2011
